Nice post Eric. Thanks for reminding me of the refreshing days I had in the mountains of Colorado.
"Refreshing" is another good "Re" word... The Netherlands certainly cannot compare with the natural beauty of Colorado -- but I was very pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of landscapes encountered on the NS Wandeltocht between Driebergen-Zeist and Maarn (which is the setting for the photograph): forests, prairies, dunes, heath, and even some hills! A couple of times, we were actually completely out of earshot of any roads or flight paths. I'd definitely recommend the experience to any people yearning for the outdoors here...
